This is an exciting time in the Music Program at Faith. We had a wonderful summer music program and I am grateful to everyone who participated. We had guest soloists and I am especially proud of the contribution our own members made. We are blessed with a talented group of singers and instrumentalists. I know how much you all appreciated the program as you were happy to tell me how great you thought our summer had been.
I look forward to the months ahead and also to the return of our winter visitors. We have missed you and your gifts enhance our program.
The Chancel Choir is back and greatly appreciates the changes that have been made in the Sanctuary. We are now able to accommodate singers with mobility issues who could access the Choir Loft before but then could neither see or be seen behind the Communion Table. That beautiful table has now taken its place as the heart of the Sanctuary and the move has made the Choir Loft more inviting and comfortable.
We have almost twenty members signed up for the Choir and we are melding together as a new choir. We welcome all our loyal members back and have gained new members too. All are welcome to join and there is no audition. The only requirement is a wish to minister to the Spirit of Faith in Worship through music. Rehearsal is held on Thursday afternoons from 4 o’clock to 5-30p.m. with a short rehearsal on Sundays before service.
The Bell Choir is off to a slower and less visible start. We have held two workshops on Saturday mornings and are looking forward to our winter visitors returning. Numbers are a little low without them and I encourage anyone who is interested to contact me. We have not settled on a rehearsal time yet but will do so shortly. The workshops were fun and we made great progress. Watch this space for more news!
Come join us if you have ever wanted to sing or ring and enjoy the fellowship of this music family.
I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received at Faith and look forward to a year of great music of various styles and combinations. Please come say hello and let me know your comments.
